Linda DeGroot – School Secretary

Linda DeGroot has been taking care of all the details in the office at Bay City Christian School for about 20 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a non-profit emphasis, and when she accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1992, she knew that God wanted her to use her skills, in ministry, where she could impact people for the Lord.

Abby Wegner – School Secretary

Abby Wegner, a 2000 graduate of Bay City Christian School, has taken accounting classes at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. She was an Accounts Receivable Clerk for five years and now works as one of the school secretaries at Bay City. She has two sons who are currently students at Bay City. Abby’s goal is to be a support to the staff in order to make their jobs easier.

Paula Stauff – Finance Secretary, Hot Lunch Coordinator

Paula Stauff has worked at Bay City Christian School since 2005 and has been involved at Bay City Baptist Church since she was 2 years old. She serves as the finance secretary and Hot Lunch Coordinator. She has a large family with her husband, 4 kids, 2 daughters-in-law, and 1 grandchild. Paula desires to cook delicious food and make sure the bills get paid on time.

Pastor Paul Brown – Senior Pastor, Bible Teacher

Paul Brown has been involved in Christian education for 37 years in nearly every role available. Paul currently serves as the Senior Pastor at Bay City Baptist Church. He has received a Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Bob Jones University. His 37 years in Christian education has spanned from South Carolina to Wisconsin. Paul started teaching at Bay City in 2015 and taught a variety of subjects in middle school and high school and currently teaches 7th & 8th grade Bible. His wife Debbie Brown teaches the 5th & 6th graders at Bay City. Paul’s desire is to see each student grow in their knowledge, understanding, and love for the word of God and have a greater relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor Dave Bender – Family Ministries Pastor, Bible Teacher

Dave Bender has completed 2 Master’s degrees: a Master’s in Biblical Counseling and a Master of Ministry. He teaches the senior high Bible class at Bay City. He also oversees family ministries and the counseling center at Bay City Baptist Church while being a part of the Three Desires Seminar. Before serving at Bay City Baptist Church, Dave worked at Faith Baptist Church in California. In his free time, Dave enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports. Dave wants to see his students know the Lord and to know and serve Him with all their hearts.

Pastor Aaron Lichtenwalner – Youth Ministries Pastor, Bible Teacher

Aaron Lichtenwalner arrived to Bay City in June of 2016 as the Youth and Assistant Pastor after receiving his Biblical Studies degree from Northland International University and Boyce College. As the 9th and 10th grade Bible Class teacher, Aaron enjoys investing into the lives of students to encourage their walk with the Lord, their knowledge of Scripture, and their love for the church.  Outside of class, Aaron enjoys spending time with his wife, Meagan, playing ultimate frisbee, and continuing his education as he pursues his Masters of Divinity.

Charissa Owens – Church Secretary, Yearbook Adviser

Charissa Owens has earned her general education credits at the College of Lake County and has a passion for non-profits. After years of working with the YMCA, she currently serves as the church secretary. While overseeing the Bay City yearbook, Charissa tries to get to know each student individually and teaches creativity to the students with whom she works.
